Enjoyed lecture this evening for Devon Archaeological Society. Live in the area and know the common well, but didn't realise this project was going on. Absolutely fascinating

What a wonderfully inspiring research project; I live in a house half built of the pebbles and surrounded by similar properties. I look forward to reading more about the poetics of pebbles and if I can support your work in any way please do not hesitate to contact me; I did some deep space photography and briefly surveyed the brocs and henges considered to be used as observatories in prehistoric times. I did respond to Jill (?) invitation to look at properties in the specific area ; we live in Southerton

Question: Could anyone tell me please what academic institutions in North America offer doctoral program research in the field of phenomenology of landscape? My background is by way of BS forestry, MA English, and MLA landscape architecture.

I would like to say a big 'thank-you' to Chris, Andy and all the other member of The Pebblebeds Project team for being so friendly and making me feel so welcome on the excavations.
After making contact through this website I was invited to assist on the dig as a part-time volunteer. Despite being a complete novice with zero experience in archaeology the team made me feel totally at ease, my time in their company was very enjoyable and interesting. Should anybody else reading this guestbook consider doing the same next year, please don't let phrases like ' an international team of scholars ' put you off, they are also very down-to-earth and pleasant people to meet and work with.
I feel privileged to have been involved in The Pebblebeds Project, even if only in a very small way, and very fortunate to have had such a fascinating insight into the work involved.

As a not very knowledgeable member of the Devon Archaeological Society and the Plymouth and District A.S I am very interested in this project. As a walker I am delighted to have explained to me the meaning of the various "lumps and bumps" that I see whilst walking over Woodbury Common. Your web site has been highly informative. Thank you. I am intending to go to one or more of your open days.

Really interesting project. I live in Sidbury the other side of east hill and am generally interested in the prehistoric sites of the area, but find very little reference to these in my area. Is there a good link I could follow? I am very interested in some flint circles which were supposedly found in 1965 on east hill, but can find no further reference to them. However, this is really exciting work and if you need volunteers in the excavations please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, jon gosse
